when you download a game and burn it, it has to be perfect down to the last bit. you run it through a program that verifies it. after that, you patch it with a stealth file so that microsoft cant tell that it isnt a legit game.
if you play with a game that hasnt been verified and patched, then you are banned.
achievements are timestamped. if you sign into xbox live on march 30th, with achievements dated from march 27th, with a game that comes out in april, you will get banned.
if youre not in an online game, but signed into live, while playing a game that isnt out yet, you are in effect playing a pre-released game on live, you will be banned.
if you were one of the like 500k playing multiplayer call of duty online early, trying to unlock weapons before every one gets a chance to when its released you will most definitely get banned.
not getting banned is easy. dont play shit early, if you do, then make sure its on an offline only profile. when you do, unplug your ethernet cord. i personally just swap hard drives. when you do play connected to live you make sure its been verified and patched.
