FINALLY SOMEONE HAS A REAL DOG! I have 2 german shepherds! I LOVE THEM! Yes they are barkers, yelpers, whiners but they will protect whats theirs. My large female is almost 3 and she will lay her attitude to you if she feels threatend. Shes a super nice dog well devoted to us but she protects whats hers. My 2nd GSD is a pup she still is in that playful stage and i havent really seen her show the protective side. But she will stand at attention for me until i tell her to do something which is really cool. German Sheperds are number 2 at bite forces. Pits are number 3 and number 1 is the rott. I was gonna bring my maddy with me to mooneys grove but i dont think we are gonna do the bbq there anymore.

ive only owned german sheperds, awesome guard dogs. my girl clears 7ft fence like its nothing, shes about 18 months old. my boy died about 2 yrs ago, he was 14. i studded him out many times lol
my pits arent that great at being protective, they just hate other animals lol they look nice tho and r good inside dogs.

Awesome I almost came home with another GSD but we dont have the room for one more. Its at the SPCA and she's beautiful! Maddy is my young one and she is high strung and i feel bad cuz i dont give her enough attention sometimes. She manages i leave her all kinds of toys and chews she loves those things. They are awesome dogs. Maddy is my hudini and the mastermind behind everything. I can't stress how smart she is. She can clear fences too not 7ft but standard hight ones. Its amazing to watch those dogs.

my girl is a damn houdini too!! she disappears all the time, its driving me nuts. the two pitbulls attack her all the time when i release them. i know they are playing but its scares me. I got caught up in it once, suckers bit my ankles lol

Maybe its a sheperd thing? We have an old refrig out in our backyard that is going to the dump soon and i couldnt find maddy and i looked up and she was asleep on top of that damn thing! Its like 7ft tall maybe she can jump that high? I dont know how she got up there. A few more feet and she'd be on top of the house. I had to laugh when i seen her up there i wish i had a camera on me i didnt even have my cell on me to take a pic. My husband hot wired the backyard because maddy kept getting out and that stop her habbits real fast! She hit it twice and sent her running and crying. 1000volts probably doesnt feel so great. Im waiting for the bastard kids behind us to touch that wire id love to see that! We've got our butts saved with our home owner insurance so i hope they touch it. I know im mean but those turds deserve it!

I'm from one of those states that you can have guns!! As a matter of fact I came out to visit, ended up with a dog and a shotgun! Lmao I totally agree, if you pull it be ready to ride the thunder!! Lol I'd never take it lookin for trouble, but I will keep it at the house incase trouble comes my way..

I didn't get a German shepard, but I ended up with an old English bulldog. He is 6months, and smart as a whip.. He will do the job...

Btw are 12gauge slugs illegal in CA? I don't ever remember seeing them at the store..

I belive slugs are illegal but you can get a buckshot that will get the job done when I was living on my ranch 3 pits attacked my lab and me and my dad took care if them with some buckshot and a 44 magnum the buckshot blew a hole in the side of one of them luckly my dog survived he held his own long enough for us to grab our guns

that's a long life, my german sheperd is 16 at the moment, and since my great dane is 5 months old she has brought a spring back in his step lol, he gets more excercise now with a companion

Slugs are legal as long as they are not Lead. Bird shot works too we got a lil bit of both but right now good luck trying to find slugs or at least casings.

My shepherd did it again! She out smarted the hot wire. She found a way to get on top of the house and jump off into the front yard. I was tinkering on my truck today and i hear dog tags...i look to where the sound was coming from and my damn dog is walking on top of the house. She then see's me and keeps walking and walks right off the top. She didnt break anything but she is limping a little. Gotta take her in to the vet now. Geez i wonder what they will think when i tell them this.
