      Need info about diesels

hey guys i'll be handing over my DD bird to my lil brother this summer, i'm going to need something to tow my camaro to the track, and possibly a toy hauler... i am leaning toward a power stroke because from what i have seen so far they are a little less money, chevy, gmc, and dodge like to keep their retail... anywho let me know what to look for 4x4 of course and 4 door, also i heard 2003+ is the year to go with... i'm kicking myself in the ass for not buying one last summer when there was an 05 4x4 supercab (full 4 door) lifted 6 inches with nice rims and tires with 78000 miles on it for 18000... but o well where can i search i have tried vehix and autotrader

      thanks for any info

I'm partial to the bowtie, but the powerstrokes are nice ass units. Very reliable and very capable tow vehicles. I needed fuel mileage out of mine with the lift and big tires, and performance (anyone who knows me, knows why) so I went with the LBZ duramax. The Chevy's have chickenbone front ends (outer tie rods are bullshit) as to where the ford/dodge don't. 78k miles and those specs for only 18k?! Wow, hell of a price, should've jumped on that bro!

      06 Duramax ECSB - PPE 6" Pro-Comp Lift, 35's.

that's the thing though those bow ties and cummins like to keep their retail value... i know you get what you pay for but i'm not looking at making it a puller or drag monster... just a tow rig that won't get stuck in the sand... not looking at new anything lol i think somewhere between 03-05

and tony yeah i know i should have jumped on it i have no idea why i didnt... oh wait i do... i was talked out of it by my parents and told to go get a house... oh well now i have a house i guess

Dodge Cummins all the way! 300k on my 97 and going strong. Having to change an injector in a stroke is WAY too much $$$$...dont know about the Maxi Pad...

too much money for the injector? or the labor?... aren't all injectors expensive?... either way i like the value of the ford not to be cheap but for what i want and how clean i want it with 'low' mileage for a diesel power stroke is gonna be my best bet for price wise

The injectors and labor is expensive for the strokes. I can buy a set of 150 hp injectors for a Cummins for around $900. Trying doing any aftermarket injector for a stroke. Also if you did decide to replace injectors for some reason...you may need to change other things to fire them. With the Cummins you got about 1.5 hours for the install and your done and down the road.
