South Bend Dual Disk Install FINALLY

South Bend Dual disk clutch install is finally done and over with. Clutch is rated at 550-650hp with 1200 lbs of tork. It has 3250 lbs of clamp load and has ceramic puks instead of the standard dual friction disks. On the shipping box the UPS tag showed 118 lbs.
Here is a few pictures show the monster....

Rick, that thing is absurd! LOL You weren't kidding man, I saw that thing and thought it was monstrous, but pictures are really doing this thing justice, lol. How big of a clutch plate is that again?!

Its a 13.25" disk.. What South Bend did was machine the fly wheel so that the 6 speed clutch disk and pressure plate will work. The 5 speed clutches have issues with ripping the center section out due to tork and also the use of exhaust brakes. So they stepped up to the plate did the 6 speed clutch update for the 5 speed trucks.
I have been using and installing these clutches for 10 years and have not seen a clutch for the diesel pickup hold and function as smooth as South Bend clutches do. They have been building clutchs since 1945 for farm tractors.
