I wanted to share my progress on my ZO6
What's up guys? So after a year and some change of sitting, and many major setbacks, things are finally starting to get wrapped up on my car. just a little history on the car. I bought it built because I didn't want to spend the money to mod my first vette. Anyway the car had an LS6 based 383 stroker with stock 243 heads and a vortech V3 T trim blower and a small cam. after having this car for a month I dropped the number 7 intake valve. It didn't do any damage to the block just the top of the piston. Well as fate would have it and me being me, I said screw it it's time for a bigger engine, better heads Ect. So out with the old and in with the new 402 LQ9 based stroker with AFR 225 heads with all the goodies, different spec cam, a bigger blower with a smaller pulley and more meth. Im not exactly sure how much power it's going to make but the old set up made just over 700 WHP and just over 600 WTQ. Anyway here's some pics. The car is pretty dirty so please be nice. Hahaha

Well today I cranked it over just to prime the oiling system. It seems that I'm having belt alignment issues. The belt on the ribbed idler pully is off by a rib. It seems that I'm going to have to machine the blower pully to move it in toward the blower slightly. I'm going to order a gates laser aligning tool so that I can get everything right. Oh BTW my belt system is a 10 rib setup with a direct drive. (a direct drive runs the alternator and power steering, pulleys off the AC belt. It looks like this. ( this image Is of another companies version (called flip drive) they are the ones who came up with the idea). My version is from Dallas performance and it's called direct drive. It allows for use of a shorter belt and a direct drive between the crank pulley and the blower pulley. This results in less stress on the alternator and power steering and A/C pulleys when the supercharger is being pushed hard. It also allows for less chance of belt slip because of the more direct line of power transfer in other words shorter belt less moving parts between the blower and the crank.

This pic below is showing 3 pulleys in my direct drive system. The closest pulley is the blower pulley. The nest pulley down is a smooth manual tensioner pulley that is part of the blower kit. The third one ( the one the belt keeps jumping on) is a ribbed idler pulley. The belt keeps jumping toward the thermostat housing causing the edge of the belt to rub. My initial instinct says that the blower pulley needs to be machined so it will sit closer to the blower thus bringing the belt in ever so slightly and keeping it straight. Just my thoughts. I'm going to put a laser on the pulleys to find out what's really going on. Anyone care to comment or give their thoughts or opinions?

Well I fired her up today. Everything seems ok for the most part. Here's a short little video clip of the car on initial startup. It's a crappy cell phone video...
