Diesel tech?
Can some one point me in the right direction. My buddy just blew a hg on his 05 powerstroke 6.0 go figure lol. Anyways I guess he was quoted 2k does that sound about right? Truck only has about 47k on it. the funny thing is I told him right before he left my house that my dmaxx that I want to get next year will smoke him and he replyed yeah? He then said How many times will it be in the shop. I then said yeah ok keep running that programmer on 6 and see how long those headgaskets last well two days later this happens lol

Make sure he puts arp studs in it when they do the head gaskets.ITS A MUST.Also the egr bedplate is a known problem so inspect it very close. My buddy does them all the time, and there very good at the job.If you want his number pm me.

Yep got a 6.0 and ARP studs are a must. Havent had problems with ours but the price quotes sounds right just to put the arp studs was a grand. Shouldnt be on the fuel all the time...We drive ours on level one 99.9% of the time can't afford fill ups twice a week and or motor problems. Good Luck.

My brother spent 4K on his. New EGR cooler, gaskets and ARP studs. From what he was told the egr cooler plugs up and super heats the coolant and kills the head gaskets.

Sounds about right to me also.... hope the heads are pretty flat.......no more than .002 warp spec on those heads......... AERA states some rebuilders have removed as much as .008 of the head surface without problems............ make sure who does the job knows that. We just did a set last week..........only took .005 off done that much before with no problems.
