    Lifter Tick

So I think the Altima has lifter tick. I was listening to it today and it sounded like it was coming from under the left valve cover. Im gonna have to diagnose it completely on the weekend but I think It may be forced into retirement. At least until I fix it.

Lifter tick? Do you know what kind of valvetrain setup the Altima has? Might be sticky valves if it's a non adjustable hydraulic setup, or if it's a lash type, then an adjustment might do the trick.

Well im runnin nissan too, and i have had very bad lifter tick as well, now you runnin the 4 or 6, and is it the high output, 16 or 24 valve? i used a detergent (seafoam) to get up in the tight spots where build up may happen and clean that shit out? Worked for me? Just be carefull that shit is strong!!!

Well I figured out its not the lifters. I think Its a rod bearing thats jacked up. Its still drivable but Im taking it easy until I get a new VQ35. It sucks and it hurts me just hearing it. The sound is coming from the bottom end. Ive got another project that is taking alot of my funds right now.
