Question UMI K-member on DD car, is it worth it?

Any benefit to running a UMI w/extra bracing on my 99 Z28? I drive it hard, but really don't race it.
I've got shorty headers, a very stock engine, full stereo w/ lots of sound deadening, and full aftermarket suspension.

      Worth it / or waste?

Light as shit... so it would help you be faster a small bit.... could help balance your car out if its heavy in the nose. That would help handling... it could also hurt ur handling if your already rear heavy. In my opinion.... again this is MY OPINION... not really worth it for a street car you don't race. But if your doin a full on suspension. Why not it would complete the package... every little bit help here or there in some way....

I'm not doing a full suspension, I've pretty well done it already.

If your not racing the car, then I wouldnt waste the cash. Its not going to do anything more than drop alittle weight off the nose.

Money you could spend on something else.

      Thanks for the input.
So is there an benefit besides LT header clearance and some weight loss up front?

Our cars have good header clearance to start with. The GTOs have shit header clearance!!!

They do make some K-members that will give alittle more room, and APS was using them, to clear the Twin Turbo set-ups, but you wouldnt need that, if you went with some good headers.

I have a set of Jet hot LTs from ws6store.com on the TA, they look, and fit PERFECT! They are basicly the same as the hooker headers, just coated by Jet hot, and on that site they are cheap!!

if you are not racing it, then i wouldnt worry about it. Like they said, you lose some weight up front and gain header clearance.

when it comes to such things its really what you think. I would do it, then again I kinda cut against the grain where such things are concerned. Posting is much more fun than moving.
