Thread: My lil rat motor Nova

trans was outanyway so i wanted to build it up to be stronger or replace it...

i knew it would be down til i got back for that soo i went ahead and pulled the motor to build it some of us just look for reasons to go bigger i found mine... some are forced to go bigger... in the end we all have about the same goals faster and more fun

So, I go out to work on the Nova, might as well, poor car has been sitting for a minute now.. put it at TDC, and check the rotor.. 180 degrees off AGAIN!!! I know that it was set correctly when I dropped it back in, after the little lifter coming out deal.. so I am lost... Anyways.. I am going to just install this new double roller I have, look at this cam button deal, and go from there.. might just degree the cam all over again too.. why not.. figured out that the block/heads are fine.. head gasket was leakin... thats solved... so just going to pull the top-end off, and redo it all... might find out what the deal is.. who knows.. Ill post some pics, and take my time..

Im not sorry... She is pretty awesome, and she helps me out with working on the cars, and setting up my overall goals.. couldnt ask for more..

I will be putting this back together, and getting my Cal tracs and the rearend done sometime this month.. tryin to get it running good, and put the bottle on it, and "let her eat!!" as big Travis says.. I might being selling the Formula, so I have to make sure I have this ride up to par, to take over duties for my "sub-par" race car!!! LMAO..

Update on the Nova, got it running!! I retarded the timing while it was cranking, and whoa... It runs!! Lol, set the timing to 18 degrees, for now, but I'm going to get a vacuume gauge and set up the carb!

I have some gas in the oil, pretty sure it's from trying to start it for a few months with no luck!! So I'm going to drain it, and replace it. Hope it don't happen again...
