Tranny problems

Well, a couple of weeks ago I finished building my C4. Its a 3500 stall with all upgraded internals in it.. the valve body is stock and was upgraded with a shift kit. when i have it on 1st and the 3rd, it runs good. . But when I have it on 2nd, sometimes out of no where the tires just lock up if I had hit the E-brake or something, wtf! also for the second question, when I have it on Drive, the tranny wont shift until really late. What do you guys think could be the problem?...

That sounds a lot like a valve body problem. Who did the trans? The locking up 2nd is serious and will break shit like crazy if you don't get that fixed, take it back to where it was built and have them fix it!

I would go with a reverse manual valve body and a gate shifter if your gonna have it apart..Its alot stronger and you dont have to worry about missing or over shifting..Oh and dont forget a trans brake lol just an idea

You're absolutely right man, for a little bit more you can get a brake, even if you don't wire it up yet it'll still be worth it when it's apart! I'm a HUGE fan of RMVB's, never run an "auto" without one! =)

thanks man... But i think Im prob just gonna get a forward manual pattern valve body. I already have a TCI outlaw shifter and its for a forward pattern. Good thing I can acces the valve body by just taking off the pan without having to take out the trans, that would be a pain in the ass!

I agree with Tony. Ever since I put a revese manual in a 700r4 about 10 years ago, I have never owned an automatic automatic. They are awsome! After I broke my 4th 700r4 and built a th350 there was no doubt I wouldn't have on in it.
