    9" swap

Well I wanna put a 9" under the lil nova. I'm on a budget, so I'm going junk yard huntin, and was wondering what rears would be good choices for the swap? I'm still a stock suspenison car, with lots of options as to what it ends up with in that department, but I was leaning towards cal tracs like everyone else seems to run.. I'll get under her tomorrow and measure the width and mount points, but if anyone knows off hand what to look for that would be great

70's Lincoln Versailles and Ford Granadas. Narrowist factory 9in. made. Plus they also had disc brakes. VERY hard to find nowadays. Another good alternative (except it doesnt have a drop out third member) is an 8.8 from a V8 powered Ford Explorer. Same narrow width with disc brakes also. A lot easier to find in junkyards. I've seen 1000+HP on an 8.8, so I dont wanna hear anything about them not being strong.

It depends whether u want disc brakes or drums. and ya, the 70's Lincoln Versailles have disc brakes. But finding one will prob be really hard, thats the first they go for. I got mine from an mid 70's LTD but with the big drum brakes though, and it is the big bearing style too. Cleaned it up, took it to SpeedFrame in Farmersville and the guy shortened and welded everything, and it bolted on easily. Came out lookn good!

I'm really lookin for the pinion support of the 9", and the drop out third member. I know the 8.8 guys are makin get power with no real issues, but I'd rather get the 9" myself. I'm going huntin for the ones listed, I don't care if they have drums or disk. Thanks
