      Rearend Help

Hey guys, just opened up my 10 bolt off of my 64 El Camino and found some bad things.....broken teeth and gears. Was wondering if anybody knows where I can get some gears or another rearend. I would love to turn it into a posi rearend if I'm going to crack it open anyway. I'm all ears guys.

      Thanks for the help.

      craigslists

I see rearend on there all the time. Just go to Fresno, Visalia, or Bakerfield Craigslist and put rearend in the search and see what come up.

i don't know if this was true or not but i heard that ford explorer's came with a 9" or 8.8" rear end with a lsd and 4:11 with disc brakes in the back! i would look into this for a budget build that explorer rear end look pretty good for picking 1 up from a wrecking yard less then $100 buck's

How much power do you plan on making, your cars 10 bolt is a 8.25,there decent and will hold 400 hp pretty easy.64 threw 67 a bodys like yours are a bit narrower then the 68 to 72 1.5 inch total to be exact,All the 64 to 72 a bodys use a triangulated factory four link and nothing else bolts in the cars.My suggestion is to repair what you have,or find a 64 threw 67 12 bolt and build that, thats the route i went and ive but 800whp of rat motor threw mine.If you got any other questions feel free to hit me up.I build rear ends at the shop and can put together a quote for you,and i know gm a bodys like the back of my hand,as i own a 65 elco.
