66 Mustang Steering Column Wiring Problems
I have a 66 Ford Mustang and I purchased a new steering box and new steering column from Flaming River. The steering box went in fine, but the steering column is given me trouble. I had to do a little bit of wiring from the old stuff to the new stuff. I checked everything out and I've called Flaming River to make sure I got the wiring colors correct. They said that everything sounds correct. I don't have any turn signals, or horn that go through the wiring that go through the steering column. Any ideas???? I know I should of left the stock steering column on there but the steering box needed to be changed so theres no turning back now. Also, I haven't installed the steering wheel back on the column because its easier to get to the wiring problem. So its not like I can take it to a shop. I need some help, I'm so frustrated!

Do you have a wiring schematic and is the new harness a direct replacement with the same style connectors? The best way to do it is to compare your stock harness to a schematic and then look at the new harness wire by wire to find your differences. The wiring may have the same colors but may be in different spots in the connectors. This is a little time consuming but some companies are not very good at keeping original color codes. All it takes is one or two wires out of place to cause a big headache...

I checked all the wiring, it's all correct. I think its because I'm not getting enough ground. So I'm going to check on that this weekend. Thanks I appreciate the response!
