Could be a home or too small or bad positioning of the wg will do that. It technically should be mounted with the valve facing the exhaust flow at a 45 degree angle. What kinda wg is it? That size motor should be fine on a 38mm.

That thing should be enough for 15psi on a 2.4l. I could see it having problems if you were trying to run 5psi, but surely not 15. I would check for leaks in that system, you'd only get creep if you're running a spring and a controller with a leak in the top of the valve (vacuum line, or diaphragm).

so...... pulled the gate but before i put the other one on i inspected the old one, looked damn good! no tears/rips or anything in the diaphram. so for good measure i swapped the springs(mine was getting a little weak) and put mine back in. looked over the lines found one that was iffy and fixed it. next i head off to the grocery store, on the way home i give it hell
. b/c set on 10psi.......by 5400 i have 15.2
what gives??????

Tommy, can you get some pics of the wastegate? This is bugging me now. That sucker shouldn't be at 15 at 5400 if it's set at 10. What spring are you running anyway?

That's a .400 bar deal, about 5psi... Have you tried running no controller? With a weak spring, it'd open the valve sooner preventing it from boosting. This sounds like the 38mm is too small or incorrectly positioned.
