Cen-Cal Racing Membership Cards

After talking with a couple of our vendors, I believe it's about time for us to think about getting membership cards. We've had a couple people come in to vendor's shops and claim to be active cen-cal members to get the discount. This has to stop, and the only way I can see that happening is by creating Membership cards that will qualify you for the huge discounts our sponsors offer us. No card, no discount, period. People not interested in discounts on parts/labor don't have to buy a card, and are welcome to continue using the site, and attending events. If we take a portion of sales and put it in a pot for a "club event", obviously, the people without membership cards will not benefit from that pot.

Cards will need to be issued for each year, and have a position for signing your username and real name (to be checked with valid ID if asked) and each card will have it's own ID # printed on the front. Similar to a credit card. Composite, laminated with the logo and what not on the front.

A portion of proceeds go back into a club fund to help pay for events we plan to go on (mooney's grove reservations, trips to magic mountain, food on cruises, etc). The rest of it obviously goes into operating costs, to upgrade/maintain the site licensing, hardware, purchase decals & business cards that everyone loves so much for free!

We had originally discussed a CLUB membership fee of $5/month (which is cheap as hell), but I think $50 for the year should cover the expense of membership cards, along with everything else and put some money back into the Cen-Cal Racing Club Fund.

I need 10 pre-orders before ordering these cards, they aren't cheap! I will be collecting information & money for Membership cards Sunday @ Howie & Son's!

I think that sounds good. Ive never used any of our discounts yet. I get a hell of a deal at kregans 10% or price match depending on which of my favorite guys are working. lol

But i might open my options up to a few other places because now Kregan went to o'reilly and they dont get certain things now.

I agree with Tony on this. I see the same people every weekend (no offense i like seeing you guys on the weekends) and i know we have a lot more members than what shows up. I know a lot of ppl work nights and weekends that understandable, nothing you can do about that. However, id like to see more ppl out there at events and meets who have time to hang out and get to know the rest of us. Become an active member and enjoy these summer days and nights out with the rest of us. And your discounts!

I think membership cards are a great idea Tony! I think our sponsors would appreciate us having something more official then some guys walking into their shop and saying.." ummm, i'm a cen cal guy... can I get a discount?" Personally I think $50 bucks is damn cheap... I saved that much with one purchase at smith auto!! Lets get the ball going and let us know when and where to send the money!!
